Advanced Excel Inventory Tracker Build
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a robust Excel-based system that lets our engineering store stay on top of more than a thousand stock items without the file slowing to a crawl. At its heart will be a master list of every part number we carry, with automatic calculations tracking the running balance of each item as soon as an IN or OUT entry is made.
Key functionality I must see
• A stock-movement log that captures Date, Item, Quantity and User for every transaction.
• Dynamic monthly summary sheet plus a clean dashboard so managers can glance at current balance, inflow/outflow totals and fastest-moving items.
• A low-stock alert that flags (or emails, if you prefer VBA) whenever any SKU falls below its reorder point.
• Built-in search and filter controls so my team can locate a part or a past transaction instantly.
• Pivot tables powering automatic monthly stock-level reports; I simply select the month and the numbers refresh.
• File structure optimised for +1,000 rows right away and scalable well beyond that. If you lean on Power Query, structured tables or lightweight VBA to keep things responsive, that’s perfect.
Deliverables
1. Excel workbook, fully unlocked, containing:
– Master inventory sheet with formulas in place
– Transaction log sheet ready for daily use
– Dashboard & monthly summary page driven by pivot tables
2. Written notes or short Loom video walking through how to add new items, adjust reorder thresholds and generate the monthly report.
