Work in Progress Scan System

We are a small manufacturer with an 11 step process - need to know if parts of the project are complete and when. I envision a simple scan system comprising of 11 scan stations. Each station would scan a bar code for the item being assembled and post to a spread sheet the project name, time, date, person performing the function and the completion of the function. Could be a 2 or more scan system at each station. The scan of a bar code for the station - ie mounting print, scan of the person performing the function (personal barcode perhaps on a badge) - scan the bar code for the item (we have the sku number in an excel spread sheet that we could convert to bar codes and print a label) - once the person and the station are scanned then only scan the sku of the item until finished.
