I have several messy Excel workbooks tied to a personal project and they need to be transformed into a clean, reliable source of information fast. The raw sheets contain duplicate rows, inconsistent date and number formats, scattered blank cells, and basic errors that make it impossible to run meaningful summaries.
Here is what has to happen:
• Clean the data: remove duplicates, repair broken or mis-typed entries, standardise dates, currency and percentage formats, and ensure every column carries the correct data type.
• Re-structure the layout: separate combined fields where needed, add validation rules, and label everything clearly so future updates remain tidy.
• Build dynamic Pivot Tables: after the cleanup, create Pivot Tables that let me slice totals and trends by category, time period and custom tags I will provide. Filters and simple slicers should be set up so I can refresh the file myself later.
• Deliver a final workbook plus a brief note that explains any formulas, helper columns or VBA snippets you introduced.
