Small Chicken Pen Excavation
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I’m preparing a new chicken area and need help digging out and leveling a dirt section no larger than 10 × 10 feet. The fencing is already on-site, so the job is strictly earth-work: remove the top layer, clear any roots or stones, grade the base, and leave it compacted and ready for me to place the coop and bedding.
Access is straightforward from the driveway and I can flag the exact perimeter before you arrive. Please bring the tools you prefer—shovel, mattock, rototiller, or a compact tiller—whatever lets you finish cleanly without disturbing surrounding beds.
Deliverable:
• A leveled, debris-free 10 × 10 ft dirt pad, edges squared and compacted.
Photos of the finished pad will serve as acceptance, and I’ll be available on-site to sign off the same day. If you’ve done similar small-space excavation or landscaping projects, share a picture or two so I can see your work quality.
