Judy's Birthday
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
Due to world conditions, scaling back in order to spend for the Ukrainian effort.
I'm paying for everything except their hotel rooms.
There will be about 16 adults & 4 children (ages 7-2) mostly from out of town, to celebrate here in Chapel Hill. The plan: Already set up rooms at Siena Hotel. Having a casual dinner together on 30th June at a local restaurant, (maybe Mama Dips?) I'm turning 75. A very YOUTHFUL 75! I'm also in a mobility scooter and single, so the Event Planner will hopefully handle whatever logistics we design together, like gift bags, decorations, picking up cakes (one 1/2 sheet cake at the pool on the 1st, and a Matt Bumpus designed one for the special dinner on the 1st.
On my B'day date, July 1st, we'll hang at the Chapel Hill Country Club pool, with 4 of the party playing golf. The rest plus the kids playing and eating at the pool, with cake, etc. It's a Friday. The big "special" dinner will be that evening July 1st at some local restaurant where I like the food (undecided where yet), in a private room. Would like it decorated or arranged for decorating by event planner, etc. We could do it in a room at the Country Club but I think a restaurant is better. No kids at this dinner. I'd like there to perhaps be a microphone since I am funny and want to roast people.
The next day, which is the last day, I'd like to create a very special event for the group. Not that this is IT, but how about finding a private spot on a lake with a BBQ, a fire pit encircled by chairs, hire a folk guitarist for everyone to sit around singing, perhaps fishing, swimming, boating, renting an RV? I don't know what's around and doable, or a spot to do this with privacy. But an event planner can make this happen from noon or 1pm for the afternoon until everyone is tired.
I did not go to school here and don't know all the area sweet spots. Am open to all sorts of ideas.
