Residential Ventilation Ductwork Estimation

Job ID: 39971180

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I have a set of plans for a single-family home and need a precise cost estimate focused solely on the ventilation side—everything from supply and return duct runs to registers, diffusers, and associated fittings. The heating and cooling equipment itself is already chosen, so this exercise is strictly about the ductwork that will serve the residential system.

Scope
The drawings are ready in PDF; if you prefer Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, or similar take-off software, feel free to use it. What matters is a clear, defensible bill of quantities and an itemised cost breakdown that a contractor can price against without extra clarifications.

Deliverables
• Complete material take-off showing sizes, lengths, and counts of all duct sections, elbows, dampers, grills, etc.
• Labour hour estimate (broken down by install phase) and total labour cost.
• Summary sheet in Excel or Google Sheets with unit costs, extensions, and overall subtotal.
• PDF mark-ups or screenshot set highlighting measurement paths for easy verification.

Acceptance Criteria
The numbers must reconcile to within ±5 % when spot-checked against the plans, and all assumptions (insulation thickness, hanger spacing, local code factors) should be noted in a brief cover memo.

With this package in hand I’ll be able to lock in final budgets and order materials confidently, so accuracy and clarity are paramount.
