Residential Construction Quantity Surveyor Needed

We are searching for a reliable Quantity Surveyor to join our capable team of professionals. The quantity surveyor will be tasked with analysing existing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, as well as building relationships with clients and site managers.

To be successful as a quantity surveyor, you should have a methodical approach and superb interpersonal skills. Outstanding quantity surveyors are not only great at analysing costs, but they also know how to read people and tailor their negotiation strategies to ensure the best possible outcome.

Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities

· Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
· Scrutinizing material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
· Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
· Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
· Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
· Purchasing materials and comparing suppliers to find the best price
· Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
· Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
· Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Prepare the tender and contract documents, including bill of materials, with the inhouse planning & development team

Minimum Qualifications
· BS Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction
· Management or a related technical field
· Licensed Architect or Engineer would be an advantage, but not required
· With at least 5 years of Experience as Quantity Surveyor
· With at least 5 years working under Construction Management or Project Management
· Ability to read and interpret Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing Design
· Ability to communicate effectively with Suppliers and Consultants
· Ability to write and speak in English
· Familiarity with US or UK building code and regulation is an advantage, but not required

Skillset
· Excellent Cost plan and cost management on the entire project
· Proficient in Estimating Software
· Knows basic AutoCAD and Revit
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint. Required
