Point of View in Short Stories
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
There are several types of narrators in fiction; each offers unique perspectives and shapes meaning. Authors choose a specific kind of narrator purposefully and with clear intent. Sometimes, narrators are limited in their knowledge of particular characters, and sometimes they are all-knowing (omniscient). Other times, authors utilize objective narrators who mostly report the story and do not provide any commentary or delve into the characters’ thoughts. No matter which type of narrator an author may choose to reveal the plot, there are always multiple ways in which these narrators provide meaning and inject a substance into the plot line.
QUESTIONS

2) In what ways are the authors’ choice of narrators beneficial to how the reader experiences and understands how plot and meaning reveal themselves?
