See pg 3 of this document for more specific citation info.
Prompt 1:
Aristotle attended the Academy, the educational institution founded by Plato, but because he had disagreed with some of Plato’s philosophical ideas, Aristotle did not inherit the position of director of the Academy. Yet, Aristotle did remain faithful to Plato in some ways: for instance, Aristotle emphasizes the importance of the concept of “form.” Do you believe that Aristotle’s conception of the soul is a significant departure from Plato’s conception of the soul? Why or why not?
First, in your introductory paragraph, state your position. Second, in two body paragraphs, briefly summarize Plato’s and then Aristotle’s conception of the soul as developed in the Phaedo or De Anima respectively. Then, in your final body paragraphs, compare the differences or similarities between the two conceptions, depending on your thesis.
