Comparison essay

A comparison essay refers to an essay that compares ideas or people from two or more different texts. A comparison essay can look at similarities (ie. what do two characters have in common?); it can look at differences (ie. how do the stories address the theme/idea differently?); or it can look at some combination of both similarities and differences.
Your comparison essay should follow the conventions of a formal essay and include the following: an introduction w/ thesis statement, 2 or more body paragraphs, conclusion and reference page). Your essay does not require additional research.
Your essay should be approximately 1000-1250 words in length and contain quotations from the texts as evidence.
*You should come up with your own topic for this essay.

Ex. Both Augie Merasty and Vladek Spiegelman have a lot in common because they both . . .
Ex. The theme of . . . . is present in both A Doll's House and Maus.
