Full-Stack Developer (Crawlab, ERPNext, WooCommerce Integration)
Budget: $750 – $1,500 CAD
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Full-Stack Developer to build and maintain a robust system that integrates data from multiple suppliers into our ERP (ERPNext) and e-commerce (WooCommerce) platforms. This system will use Crawlab to automate data extraction from various sources (websites, Excel, PDF) and handle multi-currency transactions across suppliers. A key component of the project is customizing the “WooCommerce Fusion” plugin for ERPNext to ensure reliable synchronization of product data. This project has a strict 4-week implementation timeline, and payment will be issued upon successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
Data Extraction & Automation
Develop automated scripts in Crawlab to fetch and normalize product information from a range of supplier sources, including websites, Excel sheets, and PDFs.
Implement best practices to handle large datasets and detect missing or inconsistent information.
ERPNext Configuration & Customization
Set up, configure, and customize ERPNext to manage multi-currency transactions, supplier catalogs, and product attributes.
Map supplier categories to internal categories and configure workflows to handle product approvals or discrepancies.
WooCommerce Fusion Customization
Customize the “WooCommerce Fusion” plugin to integrate seamlessly with ERPNext.
Implement intelligent synchronization so that only changed or newly added products trigger updates in WooCommerce, minimizing server load.
Pricing Logic & Updates
Automate price selection logic to identify the best supplier price (taking into account duties, taxes, or shipping fees).
Integrate AI-based or rule-based scripts to dynamically update sale prices on WooCommerce, respecting minimum advertised prices (MAP) and region-specific policies.
Data Quality & Change Control
Build an alert system to flag anomalies (e.g., sudden cost changes, conflicting product attributes).
Provide an approval or preview mechanism so internal teams can review data changes before final publication.
Logging & Audit Trails
Implement comprehensive logging for all automated processes, including data fetches, price updates, and user overrides.
Maintain version history of changes in ERPNext and WooCommerce for troubleshooting and compliance purposes.
Tech Stack
Crawlab: Job scheduling and management for data extraction tasks.
ERPNext: Core ERP platform (Python-based Frappe framework).
WooCommerce & Fusion Plugin: WordPress-based e-commerce front end with custom integration to ERPNext.
Programming Languages: Python preferred for backend scripting; familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript or PHP is a plus.
Databases: Relational (MariaDB/MySQL) for ERPNext, potentially MongoDB or similar for Crawlab metadata.
APIs & Integrations: RESTful APIs for WooCommerce, ERPNext, and other third-party services.
Data Processing Tools: Libraries for reading Excel (e.g., pandas, OpenPyXL) and parsing PDFs, plus standard Python scraping frameworks (e.g., Scrapy, Beautiful Soup).
Must-Have Skills
Full-Stack Development: 3+ years of experience, proficient in Python (for back end) and capable with front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
ERP Integration: Hands-on knowledge of customizing ERPNext or a similar ERP system, including multi-currency features and product catalog mapping.
WooCommerce Expertise: Familiar with WooCommerce’s REST API and how to extend or customize plugins for data synchronization.
Web Scraping & Crawling: Skilled at setting up automated crawls, handling large-scale data extraction, and managing data in various formats (web pages, Excel files, PDFs).
Data Handling & Quality Control: Expertise in building automated checks for data inconsistencies and implementing robust error handling.
Security & VPN/Access Management: Able to work with IP-restricted environments or VPN connections to securely fetch supplier data.
Communication & Documentation: Ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills
AI/Machine Learning: Familiarity with price optimization or predictive models to automate dynamic pricing.
DevOps & Deployment: Experience using Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or other deployment automation tools.
Front-End Frameworks: React, Vue, or similar, for potential future UI enhancements.
Frappe Framework Expertise: Advanced configuration or custom app development on ERPNext.
Project Terms
Timeline: 4 weeks from project kickoff to completion.
Payment: Issued upon successful project completion and sign-off.
Deliverables: Fully functional, integrated solution with automated data workflows, customized WooCommerce Fusion plugin, and documented setup/configuration procedures.
Availability: Must be able to dedicate sufficient time within the specified 4-week window to meet milestones and handle any adjustments or troubleshooting.
