ERPNext Developer – Mobile-First Batch Production & Inventory System (Alcohol Industry Project)

Job ID: 40185986

Budget: $30 – $250 CAD

We are a consulting team designing a mobile-first ERPNext solution for a small manufacturing client in the alcohol industry.

We are looking for an experienced ERPNext developer to help configure and customize an ERPNext-based system focused on:
• Batch / lot–based production tracking
• Container-based handling (totes & tanks)
• Mixing / blending workflows
• Bottling / packaging operations
• Loss calculation and validation
• Inventory reconciliation
• CSV-based sales imports (no API integrations)

This project may evolve into a long-term engagement if the initial phase is successful.

ERPNext is strongly preferred.
Alternative platforms will only be considered if they natively support batch traceability, inventory mass-balance validation, and manufacturing workflows.

The system must be mobile-first. Daily users will operate the system exclusively on mobile phones (iOS & Android browsers).

Project Overview (High Level)

Core Concepts
• End-to-end batch and lot traceability
• Multiple production stages (processing → mixing → bottling)
• Support for multiple mixing tanks
• Container-based workflows using numbered totes
• Ability to add new products and SKUs in the future

Production Logic
• Internal transfers may be approximate and non-reportable
• Bottling / packaging is the official measurement point
• Losses are system-calculated, not manually entered
• Batch closure triggers final loss calculation

Automation & Validation
• ABV calculation from density + temperature
• Automatic alcohol-content calculations
• Automatic dilution calculations
• Hard-stop validations to prevent:
• Output greater than input
• Negative or impossible losses
• Invalid batch states
• Monthly validation of overall process loss within defined limits

User Interface Requirements
• Extremely simple, phone-friendly UI
• Custom pages with:
• Large buttons
• Minimal required fields
• Plain language (no accounting or ERP jargon)
• Floor staff should not interact with standard ERP menus

Reporting Requirements (High Level)

The system must generate:
• Input / intake logs
• Production logs (with start & end time)
• Mixing / blending logs
• Daily bottling logs
• Loss summaries (by batch and stage)
• Inventory reports (system vs physical)
• Sales summaries by internal SKU (from CSV imports)

Exact report formats, calculations, and compliance-driven rules will be shared after initial qualification.

Required Experience
• Strong ERPNext experience
• Manufacturing + Inventory modules
• Batch / lot traceability
• Custom validation logic
• Custom reporting (PDF / Excel)
• CSV import handling
• Mobile-first UI design
