Freelance Equity Research Analyst (Early-Stage Metals & Mining)

Role Overview
Freelance Equity Research Analyst to cover early-stage metals and mining companies. You will leverage firm-provided research
templates and source materials to produce 2-3 in-depth reports per month, including full financial models, market assessments,
and valuaƟon analyses.
Key ResponsibiliƟes
1. Research and analyse pre-producƟon and development-stage metals/mining ventures, focusing on project
fundamentals and technical, costs, management track records, and capital requirements.
2. Populate and maintain firm-provided Excel templates to build detailed financial models (project cash flows, DCF, NAV,
scenario analyses).
3. Produce monthly deliverables:
2-3 standardized research reports (~30 pages each) per month, following the firm’s template.
Integrate provided Excel workbooks with base, upside, and downside cases.
Ad hoc newsleƩers and mailers
4. Source and interpret technical documents, feasibility studies, drilling results, and capital expenditure forecasts. Support
will be provided.
5. Monitor relevant commodity price trends, cost inputs, and macro indicators; update models and reports accordingly.
6. Highlight project risks, catalysts, funding requirements, and ESG consideraƟons in each report.
Deliverables & Timeline
Bi-Weekly Check-Ins: 30-minute virtual meeƟng to review progress and troubleshoot model assumpƟons.
Monthly Output: 2-3 complete research reports, and financial models
Ad Hoc Requests: Rapid turnaround analyses (2–3 business days) on special topics or updates
Required QualificaƟons
Degree holders/enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Finance or related field.
Strong wriƩen communicaƟon and ability to adhere strictly to research templates.
Proficiency in Excel
Bonus if,
Some equity research or industry analysis experience or interest, including coverage of exploraƟon- or developmentstage mining assets.
Financial modelling skills: DCF, NAV, sensiƟvity scenarios, project finance
Familiarity with early-stage project evaluaƟon: mineral resource classificaƟon, CAPEX/OPEX forecasƟng, permiƫng
