EnergyPlus Residential Thermal Simulation
Budget: ₹3,000 – ₹6,000 INR
I need a complete EnergyPlus model of a three-storey, naturally ventilated PMAY-U residential block. The goal is to quantify indoor thermal comfort—operative temperature, PMV/PPD and hours outside the adaptive comfort band—when the same building is placed in three Indian climatic zones:
• Hot and dry
• Warm and humid
• Composite
For each zone I want the construction schedule to reflect materials that make sense locally, not just a generic template. Please document the assemblies you select and reference the IS 875 or NBC tables you use.
Because this project is meant to inform design guidelines, realistic occupant behaviour matters. Include detailed schedules for presence, window operation, ceiling-fan use and internal gains that shift with time of day, day of week and season.
Deliverables
1. Separate .idf (or .epJSON) files for the three zones.
2. A brief report (PDF or Word) summarising:
– Key envelope and material properties chosen per zone
– Occupant schedules and assumptions
– Annual and seasonal thermal-comfort metrics, with comparison charts
3. A short “how-to-run” note so I can reproduce the results on EnergyPlus 23.x.
Acceptance criteria
• Each model runs without severe errors.
• Results clearly show the comfort variance between zones.
• All assumptions are traceable within the report.
