I need you to help me find a small, bespoke tailors in Hoi An
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a Vietnamese person to find me quality tailor in Hoi An. You don't need to be a tailor. (Though if you know clothes and fashion, that's a plus.) I just need you to find me the best tailors and write a report on them. I'm willing to pay $100 for your service, though this is negotiable.
I know Hoi An has great tailors, but I don't know how to find them. I'm an American in the USA, and the only tailors I can find online are tailors who have put lots of effort into marketing to Americans. I don't want to buy clothes from one of those companies. I want you to find me a tailor that better suits my needs. It is my understanding that excellent tailors are often not famous.
My requirements are weird. I'm not looking for a suit. I'm instead looking for a tailor who is willing to make totally bespoke (not just made-to-measure) tshirts and weird custom stuff like cosplay costumes. For example, I especially like tshirts made out of bamboo-rayon fabrics. I'm okay if the tailor doesn't have these materials in-stock and that ordering them may take a long time. Long lead times are fine. I don't need things quickly.
This is going to require custom measurements. I don't want to fly to Vietnam, but I have a measuring tape. It should be possible for a tailor to guide me through the measuring process via a video call. I understand that getting everything right may take multiple iterations. I'm okay with paying for multiple iterations of clothing. I can pay the tailor in advance for everything, so that there is no risk to her/him.
The ideal tailor I'm looking for is a small operation that does a small volume slow, high quality work. At least one person at the tailor's company must speak English. I want to find a small tailor I can hire again and again for years, via a long-term relationship.
I would like you to find me 3-7 tailors who best meet these requirements. I'm looking for tailors who are reasonably-priced and would be okay with all these weird requirements I have. For each tailor, I need you to write the following:
- Address
- Approximate pricing (using the price of suits is fine)
- Are they willing to order custom, specialty fabrics?
- Are they willing to take measurements remotely, via video call?
- How willing are they to do weird, bespoke clothing?
- Do they have someone who speaks English?
- Website (if applicable) (not necessary)
- Quality of their work [your subjective opinion]
- Pros and cons of hiring them
- Are they willing to ship internationally to the USA?
