Spanish Literary Story Translation

Job ID: 40045162

Budget: $10 – $30 CAD

I have a collection of Spanish short stories that will appear in an English-language anthology, and I need each piece rendered into smooth, publish-ready English. The originals are rich in imagery and rhythm, so the translation must read like literature, not like a word-for-word conversion. While the flavor of the source text is important, any idioms or cultural references should come through as natural English equivalents—nothing left dangling in Spanish or explained in footnotes.

You’ll receive the stories in Word format, roughly 2,000–3,000 words each. I’d like the finished translations delivered in matching Word files, keeping paragraph breaks and any section headings intact so my editor can drop them straight into layout. A brief translator’s note at the top of each file highlighting any tricky passages you had to resolve would also be helpful.

Publish-ready in this context means:
• fluid, literary prose that preserves tone and nuance
• consistent voice across all stories
• clean copy with zero spelling or grammar issues

If you thrive on poetic phrasing, subtle cultural shifts, and the fine line between fidelity and readability, I’d love to work together.
