Spanish Kids Stories Translation
Budget: €6 – €12 EUR
I have a series of short Spanish-language stories written for children aged 9 – 12. They will serve as classroom reading material, so the English version has to balance accuracy with a fresh, engaging tone. In practice that means keeping the original plot, key vocabulary and cultural references clear, while smoothing idioms or jokes that would confuse an English-speaking reader.
Each story should come back to me in clean, proof-read English—ideally in a single Word file per story, with the original Spanish line above or beside the translation if it helps you keep nuances consistent. Feel free to flag any wordplay, regional expressions or cultural notes that deserve a brief footnote; teachers will appreciate the context.
Because the goal is educational, consistency in tense, reading level, and terminology matters more than stylistic flourish, yet I still want the translation to read like natural English aimed at middle-grade readers. If a sentence simply will not land in literal form, reshape it, but please avoid adding or omitting facts.
Turnaround is flexible within reason, but I’d like to review a first story quickly so we can confirm tone before you proceed with the rest.
