Spanish Children Stories Translation
Budget: $10 – $30 CAD
I have a collection of Spanish children’s stories, each a little over 1,000 words, that I want rendered into lively, age-appropriate English. The tone needs to stay playful and imaginative while keeping vocabulary simple enough for young readers, so I’m counting on your skill in balancing accuracy with readability.
You’ll receive the original text in Word format. I’d like the finished English versions returned in the same layout—headings, paragraph breaks, and any notes to the illustrator left exactly where they appear—so the files are ready for my designer to drop straight into the book template. Cultural references that might puzzle English-speaking kids should be adapted or footnoted with a brief explanation.
For each story I will check:
• Faithful conveyance of meaning and mood
• Natural, child-friendly English flow
• Consistent formatting that mirrors the source file
Deliver each story as soon as it’s finished; I’ll review them one by one and release milestones accordingly. If you have previous work in children’s literature or side-by-side translation samples, feel free to attach a short excerpt so I can see how you handle rhythm and dialogue.
Once all stories pass the checks above, the project is complete and ready for illustration and layout. I’m eager to get these tales into young readers’ hands, so let’s start as soon as you’re available.
