Somali-English Translation & Training -- 2
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
I need a reliable professional who can handle two connected tasks for my team and our community partners.
First, I have a steady flow of documents, emails, and short reports that must move smoothly between Somali and English. Accuracy, cultural nuance, and a tone that sounds natural in both languages are essential. You should be comfortable translating in either direction and delivering clean, ready-to-use text without extra review cycles.
Second, I want the same person to run basic computer-skills classes for beginners. Think operating system essentials, file management, safe internet use, simple word-processing, and spreadsheets—nothing advanced like coding or data analysis for now. Lessons should be broken into clear, digestible steps with plenty of real-world examples so absolute beginners feel confident by the end of each session.
I can host sessions online (Zoom, Google Meet, or a similar platform) and, when practical, arrange in-person classes at our community center, so please be comfortable with both formats. A friendly, patient teaching style is crucial, and I value clear spoken English as well as Somali.
Typical deliverables
• Timely, polished Somali↔English translations in Word or Google Docs
• Interactive live classes (online and/or on-site) with supporting slides or short handouts
• A brief progress summary after each training block
Schedule and payment are flexible; we can agree on an hourly or per-project basis once we confirm workload and class frequency. If you have the language mastery and the teaching touch I’m after, I’d love to hear how you would approach the first translation batch and outline a four-week beginner course.
