Italian Stories to English/Spanish Translation
Budget: $15 – $25 AUD
I have a set of short stories originally written in Italian that I want rendered both in clear, polished English and in equally refined Spanish. The overall voice of the collection is formal, so the translated versions must preserve that register while still reading naturally to native speakers.
Only cultural references essential to the plot or character development should remain intact; the rest can be adapted so the new audience never feels lost. I will supply the stories in Word format and expect two separate files back—one in English, one in Spanish—each mirroring the original layout (paragraph breaks, dialogue punctuation, and any embedded italics).
Literary accuracy is more important to me than literal word-for-word equivalence, yet I still want key imagery, rhythm, and nuance respected. If you typically work with CAT-tools such as Trados or MemoQ, feel free to use them, but final prose must read like it was written from scratch in the target language.
