I have a set of light-hearted fantasy tales written in Spanish, aimed at an adult audience who simply want to be entertained. The task is to recreate each story in lively, idiomatic English while preserving every joke, pun and whimsical twist that gives the originals their charm.
The tone must stay humorous and informal; think tongue-in-cheek dialogue, playful descriptions and punchy chapter endings. Cultural references that don’t travel well should be swapped for equivalent English-language humour rather than explained away—I want the reading experience to feel natural, not footnoted.
