I am seeking tailored coaching that will sharpen my command of polite, formal British English while giving me a deeper grasp of the cultural nuances that shape how the language is used day-to-day. My spoken English is already at an advanced level, so the emphasis is not on basic pronunciation or grammar drills; instead I want to refine tone, register, and etiquette—knowing when to soften a request, how to navigate small talk in professional settings, and why certain phrases feel more appropriate than others in modern Britain.
Ideal sessions would be highly interactive: role-plays of workplace scenarios, analysis of authentic materials such as BBC interviews or broadsheet editorials, and feedback on my own spoken and written samples. I’m comfortable meeting online via Zoom or a similar platform and can commit to regular weekly meetings, though I’m flexible on scheduling.
Acceptance criteria / key deliverables:
• Custom lesson plan mapping out the cultural and linguistic objectives for each session
• Minimum of eight live 60-minute lessons focused on formal register and pragmatic use
• Concise reference guide (PDF) summarising etiquette points, sample phrases, and further reading suggestions
