Proposal for the NIH. Real-Time Infection Monitoring and Smart Drug Dispersion System
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am preparing a research proposal for the NIH.
This document aims to develop a wearable, implantable, biocompatible, and battery-free device designed to continuously detect abnormal levels of endotoxins, a key biomarker in sepsis. The proposal envisions that the device will be in direct contact with the lesion, placed under the bandages. Its functionality would not only include the early detection of a potential nosocomial infection but also the localized administration of a drug to prevent complications.
It is important to highlight that these types of infections often exhibit antibiotic resistance, making them a research priority for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In this regard, we intend to submit our funding request to the following call:
https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-AI-24-074.html
I need the person interested in this task to carefully read the funding opportunity and the guidelines for proposal preparation. Based on this, they must draft a research proposal with a properly referenced theoretical framework, using the articles I will provide and following the NIH guidelines, with the goal of securing funding from the NIAID (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases).
