LITERATURE REVIEW
Budget: $10 – $30 AUD
Conduct a review of the scholarly literature relating to MANDATORY SENTENCING IN AUSTRALIA.
Your review should do the following -
• Introduce the issue of focus.
• Indicate where the literature has been sourced from and the search terms.
• Organise the literature into key themes (using subheadings). Underneath each, summarise
the findings of the literature relevant to theme.
• In doing so, you should present the different views that scholars have on the chosen issue,
focusing on how and why it occurs.
• Summarise what we know about this issue based on existing, contemporary* scholarship
(contemporary referring to the last ten years, ideally).
Note- you do not need to cover how it can be addressed/improved.
References
Minimum of 8 scholarly sources should be referenced in the paper (e.g. journal articles, scholarly
books/chapters). Gray literature (government reports, legitimate websites) may be cited, but these
will not count towards the minimum required references. Literature/studies from around the globe
may be used.
