Underwater Laser for Marine Research

I'm looking for a specialized underwater laser tool to aid in marine biology studies. The use of this laser will be a precision measuring tool, similar to a ruler. I have never 3D printed before so I'd like help with modeling a secure way to hold both lasers beneath a camera.
