About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated professional with a strong background in Engineering and the Oil & Gas industry to join our team as a Remote Operations Monitor. We strongly prefer industry retirees who are looking for lighter, consistent work using their years of operational expertise.
Full training provided: We will provide comprehensive training on our specific monitoring dashboard and emergency protocols. You do not need to be an expert in our specific software to apply, but you must understand the underlying engineering concepts.
Your primary responsibility will be to act as "eyes on the glass," monitoring system dashboards and operational metrics to detect anomalies. This is a non-technical IT role; we need an engineering mindset to understand what the data represents physically in an O&G context (pressures, flows, temperatures, machinery status).
Key Responsibilities
Active Monitoring: Watch live dashboards and system components for 3-5 hours daily.
Anomaly Detection: Immediately identify and report any readings that deviate from standard operating parameters.
Reporting: Log incidents using our provided ticketing system and initiate emergency response protocols when necessary.
Consistency: Maintain high attention to detail during the entire shift.
Working Hours
You must be available to work during Calgary Night Hours (Mountain Standard Time - GMT-7).
Ideal for candidates in Asia/Pacific time zones (China, Philippines, Vietnam) where this shift corresponds to daytime working hours.
Requirements
Industry Experience: Must have a background in Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
Preferred Profile: Industry Retirees with extensive field or control room experience are highly encouraged to apply.
Education: Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical) is preferred.
Language: Basic professional English is required (reading metrics and sending basic alerts).
Technical Skills: Basic computer knowledge required (ability to open browsers, use monitoring software). Advanced IT skills are not required.
