PVC Awning Load Calculations

Job ID: 39958704

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I need a concise set of engineering calculations that prove my small exterior awning—built from timber but wrapped in PVC for decoration—will safely withstand wind, snow and live loads. Structural integrity is the priority; aesthetics are already handled by the PVC cladding.

Here’s what I’m looking for:
• A brief summary of design assumptions (location, exposure, basic dimensions, timber species/grade, PVC wrap thickness).
• Wind-, snow- and live-load calculations in accordance with widely accepted codes (ASCE 7 or equivalent). Hand or software output is fine, as long as formulas and intermediate values are clear.
• Resulting reactions and member stresses compared to allowable limits, confirming pass/fail.
• Any quick recommendations if sizing, anchorage or fasteners need adjustment.

I only need a straightforward calculation report—no 3D modelling or drafting at this stage—so we can move forward with confidence before fabrication.
