Mobile Basketball Shooting Competition (Shot Clock Challenge) Mechanical Engineering Design

Job ID: 38156679

Budget: $25 – $50 USD

To help with a unique and exciting project, I am currently seeking a skilled mechanical engineer with experience in designing movable structures. This is all about designing a flatbed deck over trailer that consists of 3 shooting lanes. Each lane will contain a basketball hoop with a net system below the hoop for ball return and a net system on each side of the lane separating each participant as they shoot. Participants will stand on the ground and shoot across the deck of the trailer aiming for the basketball hoop. Each shooting lane will contain its own digital time and score display. The competition will begin with a start of a button which will trigger the timers to start counting down from 30 seconds. The score displays will tack each shot made. Whoever score the most points in 30 seconds will win.

The key features the trailer should possess are:

1. **Portability**: It must be easily moved and set up on different locations.

2. **Timer and Scoring System**: The design should seamlessly integrate a system that times and scores each shooting competition.

3. **Lights**: The design should include LED lighting for visibility and aesthetics

The trailer will be used on concrete surfaces, so the design should factor in this detail for stability and smooth maneuvering.

Ideal Qualifications:

- Background in mechanical engineering.
- Proven experience in designing trailers or similar items.
- Knowledge in creating efficient and reliable timer and scoring system.
- Understanding of material dynamics on concrete surfaces.
- Understanding of aerodynamics to safely transport the trailer on the road at high speeds.

With your expertise, I'm confident we can generate a basketball hoop trailer design that's effective and engaging for competitive events. Looking forward to your innovative ideas.
