KISSsoft task

Job ID: 39911041

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I am seeking a skilled mechanical design engineer with strong experience in KISSsoft to analyze and optimize an existing two-stage gearbox design. The project focuses on shaft design and bearing selection, with the number and configuration of bearings to be determined based on KISSsoft analysis results.

The freelancer will:

Review and evaluate the current gearbox model.

Suggest and implement design improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and manufacturability.

Perform all design and analysis work entirely within KISSsoft, including shaft sizing, bearing selection, and load distribution studies.

Validate the gearbox performance and bearing reactions through detailed KISSsoft simulations.

Provide comprehensive documentation and recommendations based on the results.

Two short consultation calls are expected:

Kickoff Call: To align on inputs, objectives, and expectations.

Final Review Call: To discuss results, recommendations, and next steps.

Project Requirements:

Input data: power, speed, gear teeth numbers, module, pressure angle, helix angle, material properties, reliability factors, and axial mounting setup.

Full use of KISSsoft for shaft and bearing analysis.

Evaluation and optimization of bearing type and configuration.

Design improvement suggestions supported by simulation results.

Deliverables:

A detailed PDF report summarizing the design process, analysis, and optimization results.

Complete KISSsoft project files (.z12, .txt, or equivalent).

Two video meetings (kickoff + final review).

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven experience with KISSsoft (shaft, bearing, and gear modules).

Background in machine design or power transmission systems.

Ability to critically analyze and optimize existing gearbox configurations.
