PROJECT: Sourcing Agent in India - Bamboo Wheelchair Manufacturing
ABOUT US: We are a Spanish cooperative developing EcoSeat, an innovative bamboo wheelchair for bathing and showering, targeting the EU market. The design is registered, and we are seeking a manufacturing partner in India.
OBJECTIVE: To identify and validate 3 to 5 qualified bamboo furniture manufacturers capable of producing mobility assistance products that comply with EU export standards.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Phase 1 - Research (Weeks 1-2):
• Identify bamboo furniture manufacturers in Assam, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Telangana
• Select 10-15 potential suppliers
• Select 5-7 for in-depth evaluation
Phase 2 - Factory Audits (Weeks 3-5):
• Conduct physical inspections of 3-5 manufacturers
• Evaluate technical capabilities: CNC machining, load testing, and finite element analysis (FEA)
• Evaluate quality systems and readiness for export to the EU
• Document facilities, equipment, and processes
Phase 3 - Reporting (Weeks 5-6):
• Prepare detailed inspection reports for each manufacturer
• Negotiate prices, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and delivery times
• Recommend the 2-3 best candidates with justification

• Bamboo wheelchair (ISO 9999:2022 09.33.07)
• 150 kg load capacity, corrosion resistant
• EU Compliance: Ready for CE marking EN 12183
• Components: Bamboo frame + fittings + wheels
REQUIREMENTS:
- Supplier research report (10-15 manufacturers)
- Factory inspection reports (3-5 detailed)
- Technical capabilities comparison matrix
- Price summary with negotiated terms
- Final recommendation report (2-3 outstanding candidates)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Resident of India, with availability to travel within the country
- More than 5 years of sourcing experience in India
- Experience with bamboo products or furniture/joinery
- Experience with factory audits (more than 10 inspections)
- Technical product knowledge
- Knowledge of EU/US export compliance regulations US
- Fluent English
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Engineering or Six Sigma experience
- Experience in mobility/technology support
- Network of contacts in bamboo clusters
- Previous clients in the EU
TIMEFRAME: 4-6 weeks
