About the Project
We are looking for a talented Technical Illustrator to help create original illustrations for a new educational textbook about internal combustion engines.
This textbook is written for vocational students studying automotive and diesel engineering. The illustrations will play a key role in helping students understand how engines and their systems work.
The project will involve approximately 20–30 illustrations, completed over several months.
What We Need
We are looking for someone who can transform engineering concepts into clean, modern and easy-to-understand technical illustrations.
The illustrations should be:
Technically accurate
Visually clear
Consistent throughout the book
Suitable for both print and digital publishing
Where possible, illustrations should use numbered callouts rather than text labels.
Collaboration
This is a collaborative project.
The author will provide:
Technical descriptions
Hand sketches when needed
Photographs
Reference images
Continuous feedback
These references are provided only to explain the engineering concepts.
The final illustrations must be completely original artwork created in your own style. They must not copy or trace existing copyrighted material.
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applications from illustrators who have experience with:
Technical illustration
Engineering
Automotive subjects
Machinery
Industrial equipment
Educational publishing
If you have little professional experience but an excellent portfolio and strong drawing skills, we would also be happy to hear from you.
Selection Process
After reviewing portfolios, we will invite a small number of applicants to complete one paid sample illustration.
The successful applicant will then be offered the complete project.
Copyright
All final illustrations will become the property of the publisher upon full payment, under the terms of the final agreement.

This is an independently published educational project with a defined budget. We are looking for a reliable illustrator interested in building a long-term working relationship.
