Borne $70 Product Development

Job ID: 39847930

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I have a new physical product idea, provisionally called “Borne,” that must be engineered so the final unit cost does not exceed 70 USD. I need support from concept refinement through to a production-ready design, including CAD modelling, material selection, basic cost forecasting, and a prototype that proves the target price can be met without sacrificing durability or user-friendliness.

You’ll begin by translating my rough sketches and notes into clear 3D models. From there, we’ll iterate on form, ergonomics, and component choices until we have a manufacturable design with an accurate bill of materials. I’ll rely on your expertise in tooling requirements, DFM principles, and supplier liaison to keep the total landed cost within the 70-dollar ceiling.

Deliverables
• Initial concept visuals and CAD files (STEP or SolidWorks)
• Material and component list with unit-cost estimates
• Revised design files after two feedback rounds
• Functional prototype and short test report
• Final production package: drawings, exploded views, and manufacturing notes

Acceptance criteria
• Verified prototype produced at or below the 70 USD target (itemised BOM attached)
• All files supplied in editable native formats plus neutral formats (STEP, PDF)
• Design complies with basic safety and quality standards for its category

If you have a proven track record of taking physical products from idea to factory floor while hitting aggressive cost targets, I’m ready to start right away.
