Stamped Foundation Design, Steel Building
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have permit-ready architectural drawings for a steel building complex in Alabama and now need the foundation portion engineered, detailed, and sealed by a Professional Engineer licensed in the state.
The structure includes:
• 65' × 130' enclosed storage / shop area built in pre-engineered steel
• 65' × 16' open lean-to on one gable end
• 37' × 70' steel frame living quarters attached to one side of the main building
Foundation preferences are already set: a slab-on-grade system for the main shop and lean-to, and a perimeter footing with stem wall under the living quarters to accommodate utilities and framing transitions. The site is level with predominantly sandy soil, so please base your calculations on that bearing condition and reference the applicable IBC/IRC, ASCE 7 and ACI codes for Alabama’s wind and seismic zones.
I will send you the full permit drawing set (DWG and PDF) along with preliminary column reactions from the metal-building supplier. You’ll return:
1. Signed and sealed foundation plans and details in PDF (24 " × 36 ")
2. CAD files (DWG) that align with my title block
3. Design calculations showing soil bearing checks, slab thickness, reinforcement schedule, anchor-bolt and uplift design, stem-wall sizing, and any control-joint layout
4. A brief cover letter for the local building department confirming compliance
Feel free to use the analysis software you prefer—STAAD, RISA, RAM, or similar—as long as the output is clear. I’m ready to move quickly once we agree on scope and schedule.
