40ft Shipping Container House – Drawings for Australian Certification
Dear Freelancer,
I am currently seeking an experienced structural engineer to prepare a complete set of structural drawings and specifications for a 40ft High Cube shipping container house. These will be used by an Australian-based engineer for final sign-off and certification to meet Victorian NCC compliance.
Scope of Work
You will be provided with architectural design drawings. Your task is to develop the structural engineering drawings based on these, including:
1. Structural Drawings
- Full framing plan: roof, floor, and wall framing
- All elevations and sections showing structural layout
- Window, door, and service cut-outs with dimensions and reinforcement details
- Load path and connection points
2. Steel Specifications
- Steel type (e.g. Q235, Q345 or equivalent)
- Wall, roof, and floor panel thicknesses in mm
- Steel type, size, and thickness for base frame
- Surface treatment/corrosion protection details
3. Structural Details
- Beam and column schedules with sizes and thicknesses
- Welding and joint specifications
- Reinforcement at structural openings
- Bracing or support details if needed
Expectations
- All drawings must be delivered in PDF and DWG (CAD) format
- The documentation must be clear, accurate, and suitable for use by a local Australian engineer for sign-off
- You may need to correspond with the Chinese manufacturer to confirm certain specifications – support will be provided for this if needed
Quote Requirements
- Please provide a firm, total cost for the job — no hidden fees, add-ons, or upselling later
- Your quote should cover all deliverables listed above
- Low-ball quotes will be excluded if they do not reflect the full job scope
- If you do not respond within 6 hours, you will be removed from consideration
