Next Gen Heat Exchanger Design

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

Our plant builds shell-and-tube heat exchangers, and we are ready to create an entirely new model rather than tweaking an existing one. The task centers on full design and engineering of a clean-sheet exchanger that meets two headline targets:

• Achieve the specified heat-transfer duty while
• Keeping pressure drop within the maximum limits we will supply at project kickoff.

Thermal sizing, mechanical layout, materials selection, and code compliance (ASME, TEMA) all fall within scope. I will provide duty requirements, allowable pressure loss, and footprint constraints; you translate those into detailed calculations, preliminary drawings, and a design report. Tools such as HTRI, Aspen EDR, ANSYS CFX/Fluent, or equivalent analysis packages are welcome—as long as the final files are shareable and the methods are clearly documented.

Deliverables
1. Thermal design spreadsheet or software file with all assumptions visible.
2. Mechanical GA drawing and key fabrication details (baffles, tube layout, nozzle sizing).
3. Brief narrative report summarizing performance, pressure-drop verification, and any trade-offs considered.
4. Native project files plus export to PDF/DWG.

Acceptance criteria: predicted duty met within ±5 %, pressure losses not exceeding the stated cap, and documentation clear enough for our in-house team to proceed to detailed fabrication drawings.

Timeline and milestones are flexible; propose what you need and we will align internal reviews accordingly.
