Interchangeable Allergy Window Screen Prototype

Job ID: 39817685

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I am developing a dual-purpose window screen that homeowners can flip or swap in seconds: one side keeps insects out, the other blocks pollen while filtering UV to help stabilize indoor temperature and lower energy use.

The frame must be PVC so it stays light, weather-resistant, and inexpensive to manufacture. Functionally, the screen has to deliver all three benefits—bug protection, allergy guard, and UV filtering—without forcing the user to buy multiple products. I’m open to a sliding panel, a magnetic snap-in insert, or any equally simple mechanism that lets the average homeowner change modes without tools or frustration.

What I need now is a practical prototype plan that shows the concept can be produced affordably at scale. To get there, I’m looking for:
• CAD or detailed engineering drawings of the frame, screen assemblies, and interchangeability mechanism
• A bill of materials with supplier suggestions and indicative costs to prove we can hit a consumer-friendly price point
• Assembly instructions or an exploded-view diagram clear enough for a fabricator to build the first working unit
• Your guidance on any coatings or mesh specifications that maximize UV and pollen filtration without sacrificing airflow

If you have experience in product design for household hardware—especially window or door screens—let’s make this vision real.
