Concrete Slab Anchor Design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a structural engineer to design post-installed anchors for an art piece that will act as structural support, not just decoration. The anchors will be drilled into an existing elevated concrete slab and must safely resist a sustained a seismic load somewhere between 1000 lbs and 2000 lbs, plus the usual safety factors prescribed by ACI 318.
What I expect from you:
• Selection of the anchor type (mechanical, adhesive, or screw) with justification.
• Complete calculation package showing tension, shear, concrete breakout, edge-distance and spacing checks.
• A concise sketch or marked-up plan of the slab indicating anchor quantity, layout, embedment depth, and installation notes.
• Clear installation guidelines so the contractor knows hole diameters, cleaning procedure and curing time (if adhesive).
If you work regularly with design software such as Hilti PROFIS or Simpson Anchor Designer, mention it; a report exported from either of those will meet my documentation needs. All files can be delivered in PDF/DWG or a similar easy-to-share format.
Once the numbers check out and the drawing looks build-ready, I will review and sign off within 24 hours so we can move straight to fabrication.
