Calf Transport Cage: Design & ANSYS Report
Budget: $10 – $85 USD
Scope:
I need a mechanical engineer to develop a complete design of a steel cage for transporting heifers.
Requirements
• Fully-welded structure from scrap-yard steel sections/rods (exact stock list will be provided after contract award.
• Fork pockets matched to **my own pallet-truck forks (non-standard size; exact dimensions will be supplied)
• Internal envelope: height 1.6 m, width 2.6 m.
• Length to be determined via ANSYS strength/deflection analysis so that:
– total load on loader ≤ 1 100 kg (cage + calves),
– maximum number of 150 kg calves can fit.
• Design must minimise mass while meeting safety factors.
I already have a preliminary SolidWorks model you may reuse.
Deliverables
1. 3D model (SolidWorks + neutral STEP).
2. Full 2D fabrication drawings (weldments, BOM).
3. ANSYS report (loads, displacements, safety factor).
4. Estimated cage weight.
Timeline: ASAP – please quote realistic lead time and fixed price.
