About the Role
We are seeking a motivated, entrepreneurial engineering professional to perform transmission planning studies and analysis to support operations, business growth, and team growth.
This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can wear multiple hats.
Key Responsibilities
Manage different consulting engagements related to power system studies for transmission interconnection projects
Provide guidance and oversight to junior engineers performing power system modeling and analysis
Participate in business development including identification of new work, preparation of proposals, providing input on project scope, approach, schedule, and budget
Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry technology and applications of new technologies
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or sufficient industry experience is considered in lieu of advanced degree
Associate: 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
Senior: 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
Lead: 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
Experience and interest in load flow and contingency analysis to identify transmission thermal and voltage constraints as well as to identify transfer capability limits
Experience using transmission planning software for load flow modeling, contingency analysis, and stability analysis (PSS/E, PSLF, TARA)
Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable
Interest or experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure is a plus
Valued But Not Required Skills and Experience
Experience in stability analysis to identify critical clearing times, identify voltage constraints, and analyze power system damping
Experience in electromagnetic transient analysis using PSCAD
Experience in short circuit analysis using software programs CAPE or ASPEN
Knowledge of power regions and ISOs/RTOs, such as: PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, ISO-NE
Experience in Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages
