Technical/Legal Writer – Drafting Employment Law Investigation Questionnaires

Bloom Law PLLC is looking for a contract employee to assist with revising our employment investigation applications. Candidates should be strong technical writers, have knowledge of or experience in employment discrimination and retaliation law, and be capable of quickly learning new technological skills.

Our Seattle-based civil rights law firm represents employees who have been discriminated or retaliated against. We thoroughly investigate all cases before filing a lawsuit. These comprehensive investigations help improve client outcomes and push companies towards workplace equality via social impact litigation.

This contract role helps our investigations team revise, develop, draft, and create automated workflows and investigation questionnaires. We already have a strong investigations infrastructure in place. But we are looking for someone to streamline our systems and questionnaires, automate our workflow, and build streamlined client-facing applications and questionnaires using our document and workflow automation technology.

This contract position pays $50 per hour. Candidates must be able to commit to consistently working 30-40 hours per week. We estimate that the position will last for 16 weeks.

Compensation:
$50 per hour at 30-40 hours per week, for an estimated 16-week period

Responsibilities:
The Contract Employee will be responsible for the following:
• Drafting and revising employment investigation questionnaires
• Creating internal workflows
• Drafting and creating automated client-facing questionnaires using Document & Workflow Automation technology
• Building enjoyable, efficient, and accurate employment investigations

Qualifications:
• Strong writing background and skills.
• Although not strictly required, experience in employment discrimination and retaliation cases (especially Washington law) is a significant plus.
• Although not strictly required, a law degree from an accredited university is a significant plus.

Expectations:
• Accessibility: This is an hourly position scheduled for 30-40 hours per week.
• Work Location & Travel: This is a remote role. However, it is a plus if a candidate can occasionally come into our Seattle office.
• Start date: The position will begin as soon as we have hired a candidate and agree on a start date.
