XMOS USB-SPDIF to I2S Interface
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
I need a compact XMOS-based board that moves digital audio data—nothing more—between three inputs (USB Audio Class 2.0, coaxial SPDIF, and optical TOSLINK) and a single I2S output that runs reliably up to 24-bit / 192 kHz. The interface will sit between computers or other digital sources and my existing audio equipment, so low-jitter clocking, proper isolation, and bit-perfect transfer matter more than fancy extras.
Here is what I expect to receive:
• Schematic
• XMOS firmware project (xTIMEcomposer / XCORE.AI recommended) with source, compiled binaries, and flashing instructions
• A brief integration note showing pinouts, power requirements, clock scheme, and the switch between USB, SPDIF, and optical inputs that will be done with bidirectional UART pins at low baud rate, with receiving commands for select input and reply with received frame rate and bit number (es 44.1 kHz 24 bit)
Acceptance criteria
• Stable I2S output at 44.1–192 kHz, 16/24-bit, verified by an audio analyzer or logic capture
• Enumerates correctly as USB Audio Class device on Windows, macOS, and Linux without special drivers than XMOS
• input selection with simple UART Ascii commands
