Tuya Device for Nemtek Fence
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a custom Tuya-enabled module that plugs into the keypad bus of a Nemtek electric fence energizer. Through the Tuya Smart / Smart Life app I want to:
• arm or disarm the fence on command
• receive instant alarm push-notifications whenever the energizer raises an alert
• see real-time fence status (armed, tamper, low-voltage, fault codes, etc.)
Either a wired bus interface, a built-in wireless link, or a combination of the two is fine—as long as the final unit can be commissioned quickly on-site and shows up in the Tuya app like any other certified device.
Please base the solution on Tuya’s MCU or TuyaOS stack so it can pass the standard cloud pairing process. The Nemtek protocol is available on the keypad line; if you already have experience decoding it, let me know. Otherwise factor reverse-engineering or use of an RS485/TTL sniffer into your proposal.
Deliverables
• Schematic, PCB files, and BOM for the interface module
• Firmware source (C / TuyaOS) with clearly documented datapoints for arm, disarm, alarm, and status feedback
• Tuya IoT Platform product configuration ready for certification
• Quick-start guide covering wiring to the keypad bus, pairing steps, and basic troubleshooting
• Tested demo video showing the device arming, disarming, and pushing an alarm in the Tuya app
Acceptance criteria
The hardware must reliably arm/disarm and report status within 2 s, maintain connection for 24 h without dropout, and survive the fence’s electrical noise.
If you have previous work integrating third-party hardware into the Tuya ecosystem, please reference it when you respond.
