Hello,
I am seeking an embedded systems engineer to develop a cost-optimized prototype of a binocular smart glasses system integrating low-light digital night vision and thermal overlay fusion.
The goal is to retain full functionality while minimizing custom manufacturing costs by utilizing development boards and commercially available modules.
Project Overview:
The system should include:
• Low-light digital night vision using a high-sensitivity CMOS camera (Sony STARVIS class or equivalent)
• Integrated compact thermal camera module (160×120 minimum resolution)
• Real-time fusion of thermal data with low-light video feed
• Dual micro-OLED or LCOS displays (one per eye)
• ARM-based processing board (Raspberry Pi 5 or equivalent SBC preferred)
• 940nm infrared LED array for active illumination
• Rechargeable lithium battery system
• Capacitive slide-touch control mechanism integrated into the temple arm for menu navigation
Functional Goals:
• 30 FPS minimum
• Latency under 150ms
• Adjustable thermal overlay opacity
• Edge-highlight thermal mode option
• Wearable glasses-style configuration (acceptable if slightly bulkier prototype)
Scope Requested:
