Smart Gas Safety System Development
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
I need a full-scale, production-ready smart gas safety system that I can install in residential spaces yet trust at an industrial-grade level. The core requirements are:
• Multi-gas detection: Carbon Monoxide (CO), Methane (CH4), Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), Ammonia (NH3), Propane (C3H8), Chlorine (Cl2) and room for any additional gases we decide to add.
• Intelligent ventilation control: the unit must drive a 180–250 V AC exhaust or fresh-air fan automatically whenever thresholds are exceeded.
• Stand-alone GSM communication: using a standard SIM, the device must send SMS alerts and place phone calls without relying on Wi-Fi, mobile apps, or cloud services.
What I expect from you:
1. Hardware design
– Sensor array selection with cross-interference handling
– Safe power-supply and relay circuitry for the AC fan
– GSM module integration and antenna design
– Complete schematic, PCB layout, BOM, and enclosure recommendations
2. Firmware & control logic
– Real-time monitoring, calibration routines, self-diagnostics
– Configurable alarm thresholds and fail-safe states
– SMS/call alert formatting with clear gas type and concentration data
– Ventilation control algorithm that prevents short-cycling and supports manual override
3. Documentation & hand-off
– Gerber files, compiled and source code, programming instructions
– Assembly and test procedure so small-scale production can start immediately
– Compliance guidance for residential safety certifications (e.g., CE, UL or local equivalents)
This is not a proof-of-concept; I’m looking for a partner who can take the design all the way to manufacturing readiness, including at least one validated prototype that we can field-test. If your team has completed similar safety or IoT devices, please highlight that experience and any reference designs you can leverage.
