Contract Functional Safety Engineer – FMEDA / FTA / IEC 61508 SIL3 / Railway
Seeking an experienced contractor to complete FMEDA, FTA, and hardware safety analysis for a railway warning controller platform supporting IEC 61508 SIL3, EN 50126, EN 50129, EN 50159, and EN 50716.
You will review schematics, BOMs, existing FMEDA material, hazard analyses, and safety assumptions, then produce updated FMEDA workbook(s), FTA(s), and a controlled hardware safety analysis report suitable for ISA review.
Essential:
-strong IEC 61508 hardware safety analysis background
-proven FMEDA / FTA experience
-experience with vendor safety packages, SN 29500, and diagnostic coverage assessment (licensed tools, libraries)
-ability to review embedded controller hardware, watchdog paths, MCU safety mechanisms, and output-driver architectures
Desirable:
-railway signalling / EN 50126 / EN 50129 / EN 50159
-TI Hercules / TMS570
-fail-safe warning-output systems
-wheel / axle detection interfaces
Remote acceptable. Fixed-price or milestone-based engagement preferred.
