RFID Smart Luggage Tag Development
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I’m moving ahead with a new line of luggage tags that merge physical durability with digital convenience. The core of the project is an RFID-based tag that can broadcast its position in real time, giving travellers instant peace of mind whenever their bag is out of sight.
Here’s the vision in more detail:
• Hardware: an RFID module small enough to blend into a standard bag tag, yet powerful enough to enable always-on, real-time tracking when paired with our planned mobile app or web dashboard.
• QR layer: each tag must also carry a static, tamper-resistant QR code that, when scanned, reveals the owner’s name and phone number. That is the only data we want exposed for now; the architecture should leave room to add email or other fields later without re-printing the tag.
• Connectivity & data flow: I need a clean, well-documented pipeline from the RFID chip to the tracking interface so the location feed appears live to the user. Low-power optimisation is essential to keep battery changes infrequent.
• Aesthetic & durability: the housing has to stand up to airport handling—baggage belts, rain, and the occasional knock—while still looking sleek enough to appeal to frequent flyers.
Acceptance criteria
1. Working prototype tag successfully reports location continuously for at least eight hours on a single charge.
2. QR code scan loads the owner’s name and phone number instantly, with no additional login steps.
3. All firmware, schematics, and source files are supplied in editable form, accompanied by concise build and integration notes.
