Portable 4G SIM Bonding Device
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I need a working prototype of a portable SIM-bonding unit that merges multiple 4G LTE links to deliver a single, higher-bandwidth connection and tunnels all traffic through an IPSec VPN.
Scope of work
• Hardware: board design, enclosure, integrated high-gain antenna, SIM tray/slots (minimum 4), battery and power-management circuitry.
• Firmware: real-time link aggregation logic, automatic cell reselection, fail-over, IPSec client with configurable policies, and a simple captive portal or serial console for first-time setup.
• Management software: web UI plus optional CLI/REST API to show bonded throughput, per-SIM stats, signal strength and VPN status, with secure remote firmware-upgrade capability.
• Documentation: schematics, BOM, mechanical drawings, firmware source, build instructions, and a quick-start guide.
• Validation: lab tests demonstrating bonded bandwidth, seamless hand-over between SIMs, and a stable IPSec tunnel during mobility. Packet-loss, latency and throughput logs must accompany the final report.
Acceptance criteria
1. Device boots in under 40 s and automatically brings up an IPSec tunnel.
2. At least 100 Mbps aggregated downlink achievable under ideal radio conditions.
3. VPN reconnection in <5 s after any single SIM drop.
4. Complete documentation and source deliverables provided.
Preferred toolchain includes OpenWrt or Yocto for firmware, strongSwan for IPSec, and KiCad/Altium for PCB, but I’m open to alternatives if they meet the same goals. Continuous collaboration through weekly progress calls will keep the project on track until a tested prototype and full handover package are delivered.
