Project: Pixie Smart Camera Prototype
Objective
Develop a working prototype of a smart camera system for Pixie that supports:
* real-time video capture
* subject tracking
* auto zoom functionality
* integration with a React Native Android app
This prototype will be used for product validation and investor demonstrations.
Core Requirements
1. Video Capture
Minimum resolution: 2.7K
Target resolution: 4K
Minimum 24fps (30fps preferred)
2. System Architecture (Flexible)
You may choose the most suitable approach, but preferred options include:
Embedded Linux system (recommended)
USB camera + Android device (acceptable for fast prototype)
Other creative solutions welcome if justified
3. Processing Requirements
We have already developed:
tracking logic
auto zoom functionality
Requirement:
Integrate and run this logic in real-time
Preferred:
Processing runs on-device (camera or host device)
Avoid cloud dependency
4. Connectivity
Requirement:
Camera must communicate with our React Native app.
Preferred approaches:
Local Wi-Fi network (STA mode strongly preferred)
RTSP or WebRTC streaming
Direct frame access is a strong advantage
Note:
Avoid solutions that require:
* switching Wi-Fi networks
* proprietary apps
* cloud-only streaming
5. Power
Battery-powered system preferred
Rechargeable via USB-C
For prototype, external battery packs acceptable
6. Mobile App Integration
Must integrate with our React Native Android app
Provide:
video stream access
control interface (if applicable)
7. Deliverables
Working prototype (hardware + software)
Live video feed accessible in our app
Tracking + auto zoom functioning
Basic enclosure or mounting solution
Documentation:
setup instructions
architecture overview
8. Success Criteria
Real-time tracking works reliably
Auto zoom functions correctly
