PRICE QUOTE for PCB BOARD DESIGNS
Budget: $750 – $1,500 CAD
Project Title: Senior PCB Design Engineer – Secure Control Boards for Hair Styling Appliances
Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced PCB Design Engineer to develop high-performance control boards for a new line of professional hair styling tools (Blow Dryer, Flat Iron, and Curling Iron). This project requires a focus on high-wattage thermal management, integrated hardware security to protect intellectual property, and coordination with firmware teams for proprietary protocols.
Scope of Work:
• Schematic & Layout: Design 2-layer or 4-layer PCBs for high-heat consumer grooming tools (12v and battery).
• Thermal Management: Implement IPC-compliant trace widths and component spacing for heating elements (MCH/PTC) and high-speed motors.
• PCB-Level Security: Design hardware-level security features (e.g., Secure Element integration, anti-tamper traces, or encrypted communication paths) to prevent product cloning and unauthorized accessory use.
• Firmware Integration: Coordinate with firmware engineers to implement and support proprietary charging and power delivery protocols.
• Documentation: Create a comprehensive security architecture document to protect and record the design's IP.
• Compliance: Design for safety standards including UL 859 and IEC 60335-2-23.
Technical Deliverables:
• Complete Manufacturing Package: Gerber X2 files, NC Drill files, and Pick-and-Place data.
• Bill of Materials (BOM): Itemized list with verified manufacturer part numbers and sourcing.
• Native Design Files: Full source files (Altium, KiCad, or Allegro preferred).
• Security Documentation: Detailed technical breakdown of the hardware security implementation. A Chain of trust document
