DC Motor Controller Design Needed -- 2

Job ID: 39866864

Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR

I’m developing a system that relies on a robust DC motor controller and I’d like an expert to turn my functional wish-list into a complete, ready-to-manufacture solution.

Core requirements
• Motor type: standard brushed DC
• Functions that must work flawlessly: closed-loop speed control, forward-reverse direction changes, and an active braking mode.
• Commands will come from an external microcontroller or PLC, so the controller has to expose clean, well-documented logic-level inputs (UART, CAN, SPI or even simple PWM/dir lines—whatever you recommend that keeps latency low and code simple).

Scope of work
I need the full electronics package—schematic, PCB layout (Gerber + BOM), firmware examples, and concise hookup notes so I can drop the board into my project and start spinning the motor. I’m comfortable writing the high-level code on my MCU; what I need from you is the motor-side intelligence: gate-drive design, H-bridge or comparable topology, protections (over-current, thermal), and the braking implementation.

Acceptance criteria
1. Hardware tested on a bench with a representative DC motor load and documented with scope captures or data logs.
2. Controller responds to speed set-points, reverses direction safely, and stops under braking command in ≤ 150 ms (baseline; we can tune further if needed).
3. Deliverables compile / open in a mainstream toolchain—KiCad or Altium for hardware, C/C++ for firmware.
4. Clear BOM with part numbers still in stock at major suppliers.

If you have prior designs that hit these marks, feel free to reference them so we can move quickly. Let’s build a dependable, production-ready DC motor controller together.
